Traveler Cheatsheet to Tipping in South Africa

Average Tip = 10 - 15%

Tipping is customary in South Africa. Check first to see if a service charge was already added, and if not, you should leave about 10% for restaurants and bars, and about $1 per piece of luggage for porters. For safari guides, a tip of USD $5 (or the equivalent) per person/per day is adequate.
